Design History

On the eve of Earth Day, it is interesting to look back to the first Earth Day — April 22, 1970 — as illustrated by this poster, now housed in the NYC Public Library’s “Manuscripts and Archives Division.” Learn more

For those who aren’t aware (like I wasn’t): “The Division holds over 29,000 linear feet of manuscripts and archives in over 5,500 collections. The strengths of the Division are the papers and records of individuals, families, and organizations, primarily from the New York region. These collections support research in the political, economic, social, and cultural history of New York and the United States.”
